|The $2.2 trillion stimulus bill known as the Corona
virus Aid, Relief. Economic Security Act (CARES Act)
devotes $290 billion for direct payments to Households
which will arrive in the form of $1,200 payments to
Economic Impact Payments will be distributed to most
people by this week, the IRS said. Approximately 80
million Americans will get their payments --> this week,
according to the Treasury Department.
Though 80 million Americans are expected to get their
payments this week, others will be getting their checks
later in the month and even further into the year.
**That money can’t come soon enough for the nearly 17
million people who are out of work, and others worried
about bills and rent due to the coronavirus pandemic.
• In early May, the IRS will start mailing paper checks
to households, at a rate of 5 million per week. The
paper checks will first go to the households with the
lowest adjusted gross incomes, and continue upwards.

There’s growing concern among many Americans —

payment or the $500 child bonus.
Some dependents ages 17 to 24 hold lower-paying, entry-
level jobs, have less-secure housing arrangements, and
struggle with student loan debt.
Those who became financially independent in 2020,
however, will eventually receive the stimulus money
